Free WordPress Theme: Insanitious

written by Keenan Payne 2 Comments posted in WordPress Themes

Our latest theme is called Insanitious, and honestly I can’t tell you where the hell I got that name or word from. In fact, I don’t even know if it’s a word. Either way, this theme is a free theme for WordPress that is (yet again) based around a dark color scheme, and uses very little and minimal images, albeit the big header image.

This is a two-column theme with a widgetized sidebar, and a nice fluid width. The borders around the page and the footer also give the site almost a 3D, cool feeling to it. There are gravatars in the comments, as well as the front page and single pages. There are also threaded comments, as well as paginated pates and comments. I was also messing around with image affects one day with just using CSS, and came up with the cool little affect that is used for tags on posts. Whenever a user hovers over a tag, the border-color makes it look as though it is sinking into the page.

Check out the image below to see the options panel that I’ve created for the theme.

So you can download the theme, or demo it and see what you think. Please leave a comment and give us your feedback!

Hi, I’ve just uploaded your theme to my WP blog and I have a couple of questions.1. What font have you used for the slackrthemes header? I’ve seen it before but can’t remember what it is. 2. How do I go about adding my own text so my blog isn’t called “slackrthemes” but rather my blog’s name. Usually, themes have a menu item in admin called “custom header”, but I can’t see that anywhere. Thanks for your help with this.Cheers,Helene

Hi there! First off, the font that I have used is called [ank]* (http://www.dafont.com/-ank.font), but I just used it on a header image so the name of your blog won’t show up in the header when you change it. You would have to create your own header. I could do this for you if you want depending on what you would need (for free!).

Oh, and to add a custom header, I didn’t mess with the WordPress backend adding everything to do it in the “streamlined” mode, but all you would have to do is create an image that’s 982×179 in size, and install the font if that’s what you would like to do, then upload it as header.png into the images folder for the theme.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask :)
